Molly Becomes Amelia

Molly did a class report on Amelia Earhart.  What an amazing woman!  We both enjoyed learning about her and how she influenced history. Molly looked so cute in her aviator gear talking about the route she took when she attempted to fly around the world. Thanks, Amelia, for the impression you left on my daughter, myself, and all women.

"The most effective way to do it, is to do it."

"No kind action ever stops with itself. One kind action leads to another. Good example is followed. A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees. The greatest work that kindness does to others is that it makes them kind themselves."

"The more one does and sees and feels, the more one is able to do, and the more genuine may be one's appreciation of fundamental things like home, and love, and understanding companionship."

April in a Flash: Dillon's Birthday and Easter!

Dillon made a super cool robot out of a bunch of random things around his room.  I'm telling you, someday this guy is going to be an engineer.

The last ant finally died (no dought due to the poisonous mold spores) and we finally said farewell to the disgusting ant farm.  Next time I'm going with the good old traditional dirt.

Dillon, and Papa, had a birthday!  My sweet Dill turned 7 and we had a fun family party and Grandma and Papa's house.  Dilllon has had a fun year of soccer and friends.  His reading is improving all the time and he is really enjoying school.  He has fun playing "boys camp" at recess and creating things, drawing, or playing with Legos at home.  He is such a sweet boy who loves his family and is very giving and sensitive towards others. Our home without Dillon would be no home at all. We love you Dillon!

Charlee and her BFF Ella doing up eachothers hair.  Lookin good!

Dillon's class B-day celebration.

Charlee's face stuffed with sugar and looking pretty nasty.

The kids had an itch to wash the car.  This really means that they make a huge mess and soak each other and I end up having to scrub the car once they decide they're tired and they go inside to watch tv and leave everything strewn across the lawn.

It's Easter!  First we hit up the hunt at the fire department.  The kids love it there.

Then we die the eggs at GG's.

Easter Morning.

And their off for the hunt at Grandma's house!

Charlee's Conversation

Charlee was talking to her friend Ella the other day.
It went something like this...

Ella: Charlee, do you have a boyfriend?
Charlee: Yes, I have three boyfriends. Jackson is Cleveland, Jesus, and Gavin.
Ella: Oh. I'm Issac's boyfriend.

Then when asked what a boyfriend is they both said "I don't know."

Spring into Austin (and Sea World)

I would be back here living in a heartbeat if it didn't get so hot in the summer. Well, at least i get to visit when it's nice and cool in the spring. I think Austin, TX will forever be our favorite destination for vacation. The kids love seeing their cousins, I love seeing my family, and we all love seeing the SUN!

We got there just in time for the family Easter egg hunt. :)

Did I mention I love Austin. It's so clean and beautiful. Terra Toys was always my favorite toy store growing up. It was nice to take my kids there and let them look around. It certainly has changed, but it was still pretty amazing.

Here we are doing what we enjoy most about being here. Spending time with the family.

The girls are getting a little too into the electronics. That's the influence of my relatives.

Daddy had a fun morning with the kids while mommy spent some time with her mommy.

We went out to celebrate Molly and Dillon's birthdays.

Then we had a party back at the house to celebrate all the cousins who'd had birthdays within a month. We took the kids around the property and Uncle Greggy played "Bloody Mary" with them... that really freaked them out... it was great.

As quick as the kids got down to scoop up that candy, the fire ants got there even quicker; something I don't miss about TX.

Our annual trip to Zilker where we feed the birds and rode the train.

And of course we have to make it to the ranch to see the cows and drive the four wheeler.
Even Molly and Dillon did a lot of their own driving this time.

Poppy kept Dillon over night this time and they went fishing. They had a really good time. Dillon loves his Poppy.

Now off to Sea World!

You can tell Dillon was not happy I was making him pose for a picture. He just wanted to get to the action.

And there was LOTS of action!

Some really cool water shows.

Shamoo!!!

Now it's time to go home.

Bye Bye Texas. :(
