9 years of Molly

9 years old! Molly enjoys roller skating, school, reading (currently reading Alvin Ho), art, collecting Japanese erasers, is doing well at the piano, and has started playing soccer (and is really good.) We love playing board games and hanging out together. Molly is very kind hearted and good spirited. She can get crazy and giggly when she gets with her friends. She's a wonderful big sister (when she wants to be) and a perfect daughter.

We had the family and Molly's childhood friend, Hayley, over for a small birthday party.

I made chicken pot pie (at Molly's request.)

When I was little we used to get these really cool things in our Easter baskets. They were these balls of string and as you unwrapped the string, little toys would fall out (spider rings, bouncy balls, etc..) I always thought those were the best and I always wanted to find something like that for my kids, soooo... For Molly's birthday gift I decided to make o huge ball made of streamers and stuffed with Japanese erasers. It was a huge hit! Each time she got to a new eraser it was like unwrapping a new gift and it took forever (thus prolonging the excitement.)

Tomato Soup Girl

Charlee (with her friend Ella) is all about the tomato soup. The girl can eat it three times a day, seven days a week. She likes it so much I couldn't resist picking up this mug when I saw it at the local Goodwill.

Molly and her friend, Hannah, went with Travis to a daddy/daughter St Patricks day party at church.

Molly had a Faith In God Program this evening where she got to honor someone she admires. She picked her GG Molly for being so giving and caring. We really are so blessed to have GG in our lives. She is such an amazing woman and she really is so nurturing and giving.
Thank you GG for all the love you show to our family.

My Little Penguin

Dillon was NOT happy on this day. They were asked to wear black pants and white shirts so I had him wear black pants and a white shirt. The problem was that the only black pants I had were corduroy pants or "church" pants as Dillon says. And the only white shirt I had was a polo shirt. Dillon doesn't like any shirts that have buttons on them. So the morning started off really not well. He was convinced that all the other kids at his school would be laughing at him. I finally convinced my poor sobbing little 1st grader to catch the bus by promising him that I would bring him something to change into after the assembly. In retrospect it really wasn't worth it. Especially when I see the girl in the red dress standing next to him. He was miserable and barely even sang a word. Poor little penguin Dillon. :(
